Missing Form Notifications: How to Find the Break visual summary

Missing Form Notifications: How to Find the Break

When a form notification is missing, first determine whether the submission was saved. A missing response and a missing notification are different failures and need different checks.

Follow one test submission

  1. Use a published form and submit fictional data that is easy to recognize. Record the time and destination you expect.
  2. Open the form's response list. If the test is absent, check the form's visible errors and whether it is published before investigating email or an integration.
  3. If the response exists, check that the intended connection is configured for that form and points to the right inbox, channel, or workspace.
  4. For email, check the recipient address, spam or junk folder, and mail filters. Ask the recipient to check their own mailbox; do not forward real customer responses to a test address.
  5. For a connected tool, check whether its authorization is still valid and whether the destination accepts new messages.
  6. Repeat with one fictional submission after each change so you know which step changed the result.

An email provider accepting a message does not guarantee inbox placement. Amazon SES describes delivery and bounce considerations. If the provider rejects a message, investigate the sender configuration and the rejection rather than repeatedly retrying an invalid address.

What to include in a support request

Give support the form URL, the approximate test time, the destination type, and whether the response appears in Formify. Use a fictional test and omit passwords, access tokens, attachments, and real response contents. Contact Formify support if you need help.

See response routing for small teams for choosing where inquiries should go.

FAQ

Can the form work even if a notification fails?

Yes. A response may be saved while a separate email or integration fails. Check the response list and the destination independently.
